'HBP' among finalists for 'Oscar' Visual Effects nominations

Back in December, we told you that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was on the list of fifteen films in the running to receive the "Best Visual Effects" Oscar at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.

That list has been shortenedopens in new window to seven, with Half-Blood Prince making the cut. The full list can be viewed below:

  • “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”
  • “Star Trek”
  • “Terminator Salvation”
  • “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”

    The nominations will be announced Tuesday, February 2nd at 5:30 am PST. While the 82nd Annual Academy Awards will air March 7, 2010 at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST on ABC.
