A glowing review of the high-definition version of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD is now online, thanks to its recent release in the United Kingdom. Apparently fulfilling the promise of an "In-Movie Experience", here's an excerpt of the HDTV News review of the HD DVD version:
The Goblet of Fire is possibly one of the best HD transfers to date, with clean crisp pictures looking stunning and at times almost 3D like in quality. Warner have made a real effort to provide all of their High Definition release with Dolby TrueHD which adds to the superb mix, especially when pushed through a decent quality amp. The whole experience is an assault on the senses that will leave you demanding more of the same.
Overall, a wonderfully reproduced HD DVD which shows High Definition at its best....
As previously reported, all four Harry Potter films will be released in the high-definition DVD format sometime in 2007. However, release dates in the U.S. and other regions are still pending official announcement.
