Super 'Harry Potter' release party on horizon

HPANA, MuggleNetopens in new window and Wizarding World Pressopens in new window have joined forces to create a grand celebration for the release of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

More than 10,000 people are expected to be entertained with live musical acts, costume contests, trivia, prize giveaways, scavenger hunts and more, at the event's location in the northwestern Chicago, IL area. It begins mid-day July 15 and culminates with the midnight release of the sixth Harry Potter book.

MuggleNet and WWP sponsored a similar event in 2003 in Oak Park, IL. Together with HPANA, this year's event is expected be even bigger.
