A few weeks ago we let you know about the short prequel to Harry Potter that author JK Rowling had written to benefit British charities, English PEN, the writers’ association, and Dyslexia Action. Later today her prequel, as well as other stories written by famous authors, will go up for auction, with frenzy bidding expected.
Tomorrow a copy of the story will be displayed in Waterstones branches and on its website and in August, a book containing all the stories from the authors will go on sale.
UPDATE: J.K. Rowling's prequel sold for 25,000 pounds ($48,858) to an absent bidder.
UPDATE II: Thanks to TLC for letting us know that you can view a video report about the auction online.
