A ceramic egg painted by Harry Potter author JK Rowling fetched £2,600 ($4,531) in an auction to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Scotland, of which Ms. Rowling is the patron.

The auction of 18 items helped raise £20,300 ($35,379) and was organized by a charitable company, Make Your Mark, which was formed by seniors at George Heriot’s School. The event raised almost £30,000 (52,284).
