Alivan's Master Wandmakers reportedopens in new window yesterday that Harry Potter fans who purchased a magic wand through their special Redwood for Red Cross promotion raised $9,315 for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

We cannot begin to state how much we thank you for your participation in this event.

...this was only possible due to every Alivan's customer who took part in this promotion. Also, special thanks goes out to web sites like Mugglenet.com, HPANA.com, wizardnews.com, thesnitch.co.uk, the-leaky-cauldron.org and others for posting about this... as well as to our Redwood Wandmakers who graciously donated a great deal of their time to this effort. Thanks to all of you from the bottom of our hearts!

The company donated 100% of the profits generated by sales of their redwood wands from September 2 through September 18. A picture of Alivan's check being handed to the Red Cross is included in the link above.
