Hitting the number one position on Amazon.co.uk book list since December when the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was announced, Amazon UK reports that they have receivedopens in new window over 100,000 pre-orders for the book, which goes on sale July 16.

Robin Terrell, Managing Director of Amazon.co.ukopens in new window:

Our customers are clearly incredibly excited about the sixth Harry Potter book, and we’re thrilled that more than 100,000 of them have recognized that Amazon.co.uk’s easy pre-order system is the best way to save £7.00 off RRP and get delivery anywhere in the UK on the day of release.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix became Amazon.co.uk’s best-selling item nearly two years ago, with 420,000 pre-orders. If pre-sales like this continue it would seem that the Half-Blood Prince will out sell Order of the Phoenix before it's release.
