As reported earlier, JK Rowling traveled to Spain this week to accept the 2003 Prince of Asturias Award for Concord. While there, JK met with 18 children at the Hotel de la Reconquista’s Covadonga Hall.
The children, chronically ill patients from Oviedo Children’s Hospital and orphans from San José Children’s Home in Gijón, shared unforgettable moments with the British writer, who answered all their youthful questions on her life and her wizard-in-training character that has won her worldwide fame.
The children inquired the creator of their book and film idol about her characters and monsters and asked such questions as if it were true that she had written some of the chapters of her books on napkins.
Joanne Kathleen Rowling also signed copies of her books from the Harry Potter series that some of the children had brought along.
