Harry Potter creator JK Rowling is so terrified by an obsessive fan that she has hired a former SAS officer as her bodyguard
. The reclusive writer is fearful for the safety of herself, as well as 10-year-old daughter Jessica and six-month-old son David.
A friend of the family says:
"It is not just children who devour anything about Harry Potter or Jo, there are some very weird fans out there. She is reluctant to say what is going on but there is no doubt that she is definitely worried about something or someone."
Rowling's spokeswoman says:
"It is common practice for people like JK Rowling to hire security."
