The author of the Harry Potter series will attend the High Society Gala Dinner at the Royal Museum of Scotland on November 28 to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Scotland:
The High Society Gala Dinner will celebrate 1950s glamour as depicted in the movie of the same name, which starred Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra. A guest speaker will join the author for the gala dinner. Tickets cost £175 per person for the event, which will include cocktails, fine dinning and live jazz music.
Rowling has been a staunch supporter of MS research, the disease that took her mother at age 45. She said in December 2002: "Being able to campaign and fund-raise for multiple sclerosis is the most personally meaningful thing to have come out of being famous."
