Following up on our previous coverage of the Braille edition of book 5, here's an update from Publisher's Weeklyopens in new window:

Sightless children will soon be able to start reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Next Monday, July 14, the first seven volumes of the 13-book Braille edition will ship from National Braille Press in Boston, Mass. The remaining books are due out two weeks later.

NBP has nothing but kudos for Scholastic for enabling the press to crash out the Braille edition so close to the trade one. "Magically at the stroke of midnight on June 21 the files appeared here," said Diane Croft, v-p for marketing and publishing. "Scholastic's been great. The last book was 10 volumes, so we were hoping this would be a little shorter. But the kids don't seem to mind. Kids who had been reluctant Braille readers are reading Harry Potter."
