The recent MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) film ratings bulletin included the newsopens in new window that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: Extended Edition had received a PG rating.

In a follow-up to this news, Warner Brothers has confirmed that all Harry Potter films shall receive a special, extended edition DVD/Blu-Ray release, stating the following:

Although we've not announced [it yet], all Harry Potter films are being planned to get special upcoming releases!

While we have yet to get an exact date, it is fair to assume that the Sorcerer's Stone edition shall be released in the near-future, as it has already been passed by the MPAA. In the meantime, we can only wait for an official announcement on this news. Also note that because there has yet to be an official statement, the content of these releases can be purely speculative.

Thanks much to Brad from Rope of Siliconopens in new window for the thorough investigation.
