Director announced for next Harry Potter movie?

Following the news that Michael Goldenberg will be joining David Heyman in writing the next Harry Potter movie comes word that British director David Yatesopens in new window has been chosenopens in new window to direct Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Rumors had previously put Mira Nair and Jean-Pierre Jeune in the potential director's chair. Shooting for Order of the Phoenix is scheduled for late 2005 with a release sometime in 2007.

UPDATE: Accordingopens in new window to The Leaky Cauldron's Warner Bros. contacts no director has been chosen for the fifth movie and that there should be announcement made by Christmas or shortly thereafter.

UPDATE 2: According to MuggleNetopens in new window Mr. Yates HAS been chosen to direct the movie. There has been plenty of back and forward with this news so as of now treat all news until confirmed by Warner Bros. as rumors.
