Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix has been nominated for Book of the Year in the 2003 British Book Awards, which are also billed as the Baftas of the publishing industry (and the Oscars of the book trade). The awards will be presented on April 7, 2004.
The eight nominees for Book of the Year are Brick Lane by Monica Ali; The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon; Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling; The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold; My Side by David Beckham; The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith; and A Royal Duty by Paul Burrell.
