The Riviera Theatreopens in new window in Tonawandan, New York, scheduled a showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as a double feature this past weekend but to their dismayopens in new window only eight people showed up for what was expected to be a sold-out show, leaving the usually busy theatre quiet.

Theatre manager Jim Kretz attributes the low turnout to other area events and a lack of advertising for the special show.

"There's a lot of stuff going on today. I think a lot of people are out shopping or at the Bills game. The Lord of the Rings may have had something to do with it as well."

The theatre will hold the screening over until next weekend with hopes that more people will show up for the second run, Kretz said.
