Back when Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix first came out, many bookstores gladly ordered as many Harry Potter books as they could get their hands on, knowing that the books would sell like hotcakes.

The problem is, the hotcakes have cooled as Bookworld, a discount bookstore chain, has been forced to close stores in Scotlandopens in new window, after bulk buying Harry Potter books.

An insider said: "We have loads of books that don't sell.

"Everybody was stocking Harry Potter the company should have realised requests would dwindle.

"Now we are left with 10,000 books in the warehouse. It's money wasted."
