Weasley twins turning on the lights for Christmas

Jamesopens in new window and Oliveropens in new window Phelps, who play Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter movies are kicking off the Christmas celebration in North Warwickshire in the UK on November 14.

The theme of the town's light show this year will be The Magic of Christmasopens in new window and the borough council says it is fitting that a special pair of "magical" twins will be joining in the fun.

Oliver Phelpsopens in new window, who plays George Weasley in the films, said he was delighted to be asked to help out.

He said:

"Both James and I are really excited to be invited to help switch on the lights this year in Nuneaton town centre."

"With the Magic of Christmas, we hope that we can join in with the celebrations and give the town centre a night to remember. We may even have a surprise or two in store for visitors to the town centre during the night."

He said they would be parking their broomsticks, suspending a Quidditch practice match, and leaving their screen father's Ford Anglia parked safely at home to join in the Nuneaton festivities. The pair will be visiting shops in the town centre during the day as well as signing autographs during the evening.
