Ryan Morely has run into quite a bit of luck recently - he managed to obtain, through a bookstore at which he worked, an issue of Harry Potter and the the Philosopher's Stone bounded with poor editing. A smart idea it would be to market such a find, and he has chosen this route - with a minimum of £8,000 requested for the novel.
Objects like this seem to come through int he most innocent ways, as in this instance. Morely was only left 50 pence lighter after purchase.
At the time Harry Potter was unknown. The book shows the author as JA Rowling — instead of JK — and there are spelling mistakes throughout.
Now graphic designer Ryan, 28, will sell the copy on the internet.
Ryan, from Sheffield, said: "I never imagined it would be such a hit."
