The Settle Post-Intelligenceropens in new window reports that Random House Listening Library sold a record-breaking 575,000 copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on audiocassette and CD in three days. That may not sound like a lot when compared with the 9 million-plus print copies of the book sold worldwide; but in audio book terms, this is huge. In fact, audio books sales rose 165 percent.

According to research conducted by the Audio Publishers Association, approximately one in five U.S. households purchases at least one audio book a year.
