Entering the world of Harry Potter just got a lot more interesting! Computer gaming company Electronic Arts has announced the arrivalopens in new window of a new expansion pack for fan-favorite The Sims.

The working title is "Makin' Magic", and it allows the user to visit a new Magic Town, cast spells, and shop for spell ingredients. You have the opportunity to turn your Sim into a witch or wizard with the purchase of a "Magic Starter Kit" from a traveling salesman, and some other exciting features include the "Wand Charger and Charm Maker", a "Magic Dueling Arena", and the ability to cast charms in an effort to "meddle with relationships". A warning - you need The Sims or The Sims Special Edition to play with this expansion pack.

I'm not much of a computer gamer, but I may get this just so I can hatch a pet dragon from the Dragon's Nest (a la Hagrid) and cast a spell to turn my neighbor into a frog. I wonder if you can turn an enemy into a ferret?
