WB makes new 'Half-Blood Prince' downloads available
To get the buzz for "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" up even more, Warner Bros. has announced new downloads for "Potter" fans using the Firefox web browser. The downloads include new Harry Potter skins and backgrounds as well as a free app from the iTunes Store for iPhone users.

UK residents can win a PS3 with 'Potter' knowledge
ASDA Entertainment in the UK is giving away a Sony PlayStation 3 and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" video game to someone who can answer a fairly easy question about the "Potter" universe.

Sprint's 'Family Locator'
Sprint to offer Marauder's Map-like service for parents
Mobile phone giant Sprint on Thursday introduced a service called "Family Locator" that will allow parents to see their children's current location on a map, using the GPS features found in their kids' phones. The service, which costs $9.99 a month, is accurate from within a few yards to a few miles, depending on the phone. Both parent and child must consent to the tracking before it's enabled.

Why Marc Snetiker is 'jazzed' about reading
The ninth grader won the grand prize in the Verizon/Los Angeles Times' "Jazzed About Literacy" essay competition. He'll be sereneded by jazz musician and five-time Grammy winner Al Jarreau at his high school, along with other winners. Snetiker's winning essay, which includes Harry Potter, captures the feeling of reading a great story. Some of his own reasons for reading: an increase in intelligence, imagination and creativity.

New 'Prisoner of Azkaban' trailer in production
The owners of Magic Box, a company that creates music for film and television, are pictured with John Williams on their site's news page. The team is working on a new trailer for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." They previously contributed to the trailers for the first two Potter movies.

Disney is getting involved in the Potter phenomenon, albeit in a way you might not expect - selling watches in the Middle East that feature everyone's favourite wizard.
