The Times Herald reports about a Houghton College professor, Dan Wooley, who defends the morality of HP:

Dr. Woolsey, who has been teaching at Houghton since 1991, said he uses the fantasy books to help teach his students to be more critical and analytical. ?We?re a liberal arts campus here at Houghton,? he said. ?My goal is not to teach what to think, but rather I want to teach my students how to think and critique literature.?
