Books-Film or Film-Books?

Usually it is the other way around - people have read the book and then they see the film. Certainly that's the case with Harry Potter. And I think the reversal of that trend in Tolkien's case, whereby people are seeing the films first and then becoming very interested in the books, is fascinating.
But I'm not entirely convinced, I personally only feel in love with Harry Potter after seeing the 1st movie. It was the scene of Harry and his class mates crossing the lake to get to Hogwarts. After that I decided that I had to read the books.&br;&br;So how did you get into the books? Are you a fan from the beginning or did the films inspire you? Please post your comments below.
