J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, helped to raise £320,436 ($628,372) for multiple sclerosis at a charity event this past weekend. One of the items up for auction was the chance to be immortalized as a wizard or witch in a portrait at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida.
Also in attendance at the event were Rebus author Ian Rankin, singer Charlotte Church and actress Joely Richardson.
