The 50th annual Grammyopens in new window award nominationsopens in new window were announced earlier today and Jim Dale, the voice actor for the U.S. Harry Potter audiobooks, has been nominated for an award for his work on Deathly Hallows, under the category of Best Spoken Word Album For Children.

This would be the fifth Grammy nomination for Mr. Dale, who previously won the coveted award for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire back in 2000.

Others nominees in this category include Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci for The One and Only Shrek, Alan Alda for Things I Overheard While I Was Talking to Myself as well as Barack Obama, Maya Angelou, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.

The ceremony will take place on February 10th, 2008 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and be broadcast live on CBS.
