'GoF' casting a spell on ticket sales

Will Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire help stop the slide in U.S. movie attendance for 2005? According to Fandangoopens in new window tickets sales for this movie are the fastest selling of the Potter installment to date and a recent poll on their site indicated that 47 per cent of movie going voters picked Goblet of Fire as their favorite novel in the series. We've just heard from Fandango and currently 40 per cent of their weekly sales are for Goblet of Fire.

Fandango President and CEO, Art Levitt said:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has ranked among Fandango's top selling movies since tickets first became available. The previous Potter films were amazingly successful and we expect Goblet to be another box office behemoth. We're anticipating huge crowds, as fans flock to Fandango to buy tickets in advance to avoid facing 'sold out' signs at the theaters.
