'Prisoner' leads Saturn awards

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films announcedopens in new window today that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban leads the nominations in the 31st Annual Saturn Awardsopens in new window.

The movie has been nominated in 9 categories including Best Picture (Fantasy), Best Director (Alfonso Cuarón) and Best Writer (Steve Kloves). Daniel Radcliffe received a nomination for Best Performance By A Younger Actor. The other categories include: Gary Oldman nominated as Best Supporting Actor, John Williams with Best Music, Best Costume, Best Make-up and Best Special Effects round out the nominations.

This year’s 31st Annual Saturn Awards will take place in the U.S. on Tuesday, May 3, at the Universal City Hilton Hotel.
