There's been some recent news at HPANA that has gone unannounced and it's time they finally went out:

First, we're very proud to announce that USA Today has selected HPANA as a Hot Siteopens in new window in today's Web Guide section, and we're thrilled and grateful beyond words:

No Harry Potter book this year, no Harry Potter movie this year - we are bereft. That said, all the news on the movie currently underway (that would be Goblet of Fire) and what the cast, crew and author are up to lately can be found on this fine site. Over 17,000 Muggle members get their news from here, and the network of contributors is clearly eager to keep things are fresh as possible.

Secondly, HPANA quietly finished it's second full year online on November 1, marking our second birthday! We wanted to do something special, but the time came and past so quickly that we decided just to wait until next time for a celebration.

Finally, fan site Harry Potter Internationalopens in new window held an interview with our head moderator, Scott Fuller (Professor Scoots), and has featured a reviewopens in new window of the site there:

HPI: What do you do on HPANA? Is there anyone you would like to recognize for his or her help and work on the site?

Scott: Well, my role is to help maintain the forums and support the other volunteer moderators on the site, which I am fortunate to be able to do. The person I feel is most responsible for HPANA's success is Geraldine Broggy (a.k.a. Geri), our Managing Editor. Due to her tireless efforts, HPANA continues to excel in providing the most accurate and up-to-date Harry Potter information/news online anywhere (I realize I am biased so please forgive me). I can't begin to thank her enough for all she does!

We're all continuously amazed and proud of the recognition bestowed upon HPANA and will certainly do our best to keep earning it. Thank you so very much for allowing us to provide a place for fans to learn about and discuss JK Rowling's Harry Potter series.
