Reporters are being picked onopens in new window left and right in summer movies, according to Michigan columnist Michael S. Miller.

From Spider-Man 2's sensationalistic editor J. Jonah Jameson to Anchorman's ridiculously sexist Ron Burgandy, he says it'll only get worse when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comes out next year, featuring the slimy, quote-molding Rita Skeeter.

...reporters everywhere should protest the portrayal of dishonest journalists. Where's our lobbying group? Where's our Hollywood influence? Sure, Carrie Bradshaw and Ray Barrone are successful and wealthy columnists on their television shows, but that's not reality, that's science fiction.

And it's only going to get worse when the next Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, debuts in summer 2006. That story's journalist, Rita Skeeter, is a conniving, duplicitous, win-at-all-costs stinker. She'd make a good trial lawyer.

We should point out that the casting of Rita Skeeter is still anxiously anticipated, and the release date for Goblet of Fire has not been officially annouced. Last we heard, it was slated for late 2005.
