FictionAlley fan site nominated for Webby award

Harry Potter fan fiction and art site FictionAlleyopens in new window has been nominatedopens in new window for a prestigious "Best Community" Webby Award in the eighth annual eventopens in new window, to be held May 12.

"The members of Team FictionAlley are beyond thrilled by the nomination," said Heidi Tandy, president of FAWC, Inc., the non-profit organization that operates the site. "But we really feel that the nod belongs to all the authors, reviewers and Parkies - they are the community behind FA."

Other sites in the "Best Community" category include Friendsteropens in new window and the ever-popular LiveJournalopens in new window.

The awards have been called "the online Oscars" by Time magazine, and puts FA in very good company. Google, BBC News and Apple's iTunes are all nominated in other categories.
