New sections to be introduced on site

HPANA is expanding and we need your help!

While our main focus has and always will be on delivering the very latest Harry Potter news, we've decided to offer some diversions and present some of your contributions at the same time.

Potter's Pensieve

"Don't ask questions -- that was the first rule for a quiet life with the Dursleys."
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Our first new section will be aimed at answering reader questions about the Harry Potter series.

If you've read all five books published thus far, then you are unlikely to be the sort who doesn't ask questions. You know how important they are. We, the staff of HPANA, think they're important too, and want to know your questions, which we will attempt to answer. We can't claim to have a direct link to J.K. Rowling's brain, but we've got enough of our own to fill a tank.

So send us that burning question you've being dying to have answered, and we'll wrap our tendrils around even the thorniest of queries. The best questions and answers will be posted weekly.

The Quibbler

Have you ever read an editorial and thought, "Hey, I can do that!" Do you have unique ideas and opinions about Harry Potter? Are there predictions running madly through your head that no one else has addressed yet? Do you have a few spare minutes to jot down a one-page article about a Harry Potter topic near and dear to your heart?

Would you like your editorial to be featured on HPANA? Well, then we've got just the thing for you!

We here at HPANA realize that we wouldn't be here without terrific fans like you - and we want to hear what you've got to say. We're looking for submissions to be spotlighted in a weekly editorial feature written by you, for you! We know there are some pretty terrific ideas just waiting to be shared with all of the Harry Potter fans out there. So, we're asking you to take a few minutes, jot down your thoughts and send them in! Our editorial staff will review all of the submissions and pick our favorites to be published. Then we'll open it up for comments, and hopefully an insightful and engaging debate will begin!

There are, of course, some guidelines:

  1. Length should be no longer than your average typed page (though exceptions can be made).
  2. Proper language usage is key! Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated. Please be mindful of the fact that we have readers of all ages and backgrounds here.
  3. Your submissions are subject to editing.
  4. If you're quoting from one of the books, one of the movies, or perhaps from another site, proper notation is required.
  5. You can send in as many submissions as you like. We can't promise that your column will be picked (especially if we have lots of duplicate topics), but we'll try to use as many as we can.

We're really looking forward to seeing what you come up with - so get cracking and send us your editorials!

Fan Art Competition

HPANA wants to feature your fan art! Send in your drawings and illustrations and we'll pick a winner each month to feature at the very top of our home page!

We also need logos created for our new sections, The Quibbler and Potter's Pensieve. It would be great if you could create it on a white or transparent background, and have a layered copy available so we can incorporate it easily if your logo is chosen.
