From Scotsman:

JK ROWLING has been named as the most globally influential Scot.

The author was named the top of 50 Scots who are "Shaping World Culture", in the survey, which has been put together by The Scotsman?s critics.

Published in The Scotsman Magazine today, the list represents Scotland?s cultural establishment and profiles those people in the arts world who currently wield influence around the globe.

I don't think anyone would find this surprising. Somewhere I heard she's the second only to The Bible in annual book sales. The rest of the article's at the link!
