Last month we mentioned that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince would be released during the holiday season this December.
Tonight there are new rumors
that suggest the film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray December 7, with Amazon.com already allowing its visitors to sign up to be alerted when the film is available for pre-order.

Good old WB--releasing it just in time for the Christmas holiday...I hope it's worth buying. I bought OOTP the day it came out and I've still yet to open it, and that was a year and a half ago!

I will patiently wait until December to see Half Blood Prince. I'm sure the two disc set will be at lest 24.95 but that is ALL WB will be getting from me. They will not get the cost of theater tickets or any other of the added ways they have thought of to re-coup the 55 million that was spent in just advertizing the movie.
I have not abondoned my anger of last fall when the movie was abruptly pulled a week and a half before it was to premiere. GREED IS NOT GOOD WB! I hope that there are other fans out there who have not forgotten what they did and are still planning on the BOYCOTT that was on everyones lips and minds back then. Shame on you Warner Brothers!!!

Well amazon usually does that before a movie comes out in theaters, but yea those rumours are GOOOOOD! And WB did say it would be coming out during the holiday season so I think its plausible :D

Hecate3fold, that's awfully harsh. Movie studios move around release dates for movies all the time -- them moving HBP from November '08 to July '09 is nothing new. You don't see Trekkies crying foul when Paramount moved "Star Trek" from Christmas 2008 to May 2009 -- which was the best move for the studio since holiday 2008 had too many movies anyway.
And what if you don't like the movie if you skip the theaters, buy the DVD/Blu-ray and watch it? That's around $20-$30 wasted, you might be better off buying only one ticket or be friends with someone working at your local movie theater (and see HBP for free).
