To follow up on their numerous interviews over the past week celebrating the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the LA Times have posted an interview
with actors James and Oliver Phelps today.
The interview covers how they were first cast for their roles, director David Yates and working on Half-Blood Prince:
What was your favorite experience working on Half-Blood Prince?
OP: That would be being a part of the Fred and George joke shop scene. The crew built an exquisite set and there are a lot of special effects involved to simulate the magical pops and explosions. It’s a great scene.
JP: I really enjoyed working with the crew. Most of my actual acting I was able to complete in about two weeks. When I wasn’t acting I would help the crew set up scenes and shots. I learned a lot more about direction and filmmaking in general and that was pretty cool.
Are you often confused for each other like the Weasley twins are in the movie?
OP: It’s funny that you should ask that, because we rarely are. When we first went in for casting calls and got the part the crew was very methodical. They said to me “You’re George,” and to James, “You’re Fred” and I guess it stuck because no one ever really got confused.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince arrives in theaters on Wednesday, July 15th.

They seem like really nice guys.
The joke shop scene is terrific, but I'm a bit disappointed that they were only officially on-set for 3 weeks. So, little Gred and Forge.
I don't even want to contemplate DH. :(

Yay! A Fred & George/James & Oliver fix! *chuckles* Fred and George are up there on my list of favorites. And it's funny they asked about whether people mixed up which twin was which. ha ha ha. I'm not surprised that it wasn't much of a problem. It may be a little hard when you first meet as set of twins. But usually when you get to know them you are able to tell them apart easily. Funny how that is.

Funny way to get selected for your part, your George and your Fred. Like it really made no difference which was who. The twins were/are always together when they are in a scene so it's almost like playing one part.
My but they have grown into handsome young men! Yummy!
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Fun interview. I would probably get them confused. I never really paid that much attention. Now I think I should look closer. I will miss Fred when he is gone.
