Cinemablend has an interesting article
online stating that Warner Brothers is already pursuing an opportunity to bring The Tales of Beedle the Bard to the big screen.
None of these stories (from Beedle the Bard) seems to have any connection to the other, which ought to make it difficult for Warners to fit them all into a single film. Could they be planning five movies? That would seem unwise. These are short stories after all, it’s unlikely there’s enough material in any one story to justify a feature film.
According to our sources, Warners is still trying to figure out exactly how to make this work. But there’s definitely a strong interest in making Tales of the Beedle Bard: The Movie happen, once Harry Potter is over with.
This of course has not been confirmed, but we shall update you when we recieve anymore information.
Thanks to drhallows
for the tip!

Ka-Ching!!!! There goes the cash register at the ticket offices again!!
Actually it would be easy to do. Just have the beginning as someone telling the stories to a group of kids, preferably young witches and wizards, and come back to the narrater after each on is finished. Then the storyteller can set the scene for the next one to start.
I forget the name of the movie where Peter Falk is telling the stories to his grandson who is in bed, but the same concept.
I'd probably go see it if they wouldn't postpone the opening date to make more money.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Hecate3fold, you're thinking of The Princess Bride ('tis my favorite movie of all time :D)
I think you're right, they probably could make a movie out of Beedle the Bard if they did it that way. I don't really see any other way to do it.

I think your talking about The Princess Bride a quite brilliant film. But i think if they did that people would find themselves bored, the reason it worked in that context is because that is how the book it is based on was set out. I think if they are smart about making Beedle into films they will use the set out of the book and have Dumbledore introduce them, or Hermione. Someone from the movies who will anchor it in the same world for all non-book fans. I don't think an adaption is a good idea really, if JK gives them the rights I hope she takes an active role in ensuring a good portrayal and maybe having some of the profit go to the same charity as parts of all book sales do. Maybe making 5 short films and releasing straight to DVD is something they should consider?

Well, these are kids stories. And the movies are way beyond kid's stuff now. Might be a bit difficult to link the series to the fairy tales.
Of cause they would do anything to get more money out of the hipe, I actually don't think one of their other projects has a fanbase as big as this. Will be a bit of a come down once it's all over. But turning The Tales of Beedle the Bard into a film seems quite desparate to me. (Not that I would mind.)

I think it will be in some sort of cartoons/anime form rather than being a "regular" movie. Like Cinderella, peter pan, etc. Good luck to WBros if they can get the most out of it. It will have a limited audience only, childrens to be specific, unlike the HP series that almost all ages are waiting for the next movie.

Interesting thought. I am sure they could film them as short stories tied together in one or two films. Maybe they could have one of the HP characters read the stories to some wizarding children?

that would be cool and would totally help out with the end of Harry Potter after the movies are done, but HP will never end I guess. Though I don't know about Tales of Beetle the Bard being a movie.

Flawed Hero says:
I don't think it would make a particularly good movie. It's a fairy tale book, a book with 5 short stories that bring out certain moral values. A movie would certainly have to expand on these stories to fit the minimum of an hour and a half, which would certainly require some deviation from the main morals. Also, even if they do manage to somehow keep the morals intact, I think the political and social messages behind the stories (and featured heavily in Dumbledore's commentary) would be impossible to bring on-screen.
My other reason against this is that they will "Disney" down the stories, to the point where the Warlock just had a little problem and they lived happily ever after. I would be worried they'd take a page out of Ms. Bloxam's book and make the stories fun and lighthearted, with no value.
If the movie is geared towards adults, it will look childish; for children people will think it's too adult. I don't see how it could work out.

I think the Bard tales would be a series of short films set within a feature film. It would have five stories that would be filmed for 20 to 25 minutes each to make a full length film. The film could be filmed in animation or live action. It would be interesting to see how this possible project would develop.

First Exec: Yeah your right, lets delay the film for a few more months as well while we are at it!

I really don't think its the best idea. I haven't bought the books, yet. So when they come out I want to read them, but it wouldn't make sense to make them into movies. At first I liekd the idea sorta, but now it's getting a little overboard. I am staisfied with enough Harry Potter Mania. We got HPANA, A Harry Potter Theme Park, six movies done so far and technically two more, and all seven books are done.
We really don't need this bit of extra Harry Potter fan stuff to come with it. Sometimes too much of a good thing is just that.
As DanFan*723 said Rowling releasing this book to us a gift and its all by grace that it was. I mean if they made this into a movie it would be such an abuse of that gift. What else will Fantastic Beast and Where to Find them be a movie. I can picture it now. Expeditions with Luna Lovegood in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them in theatres and Imax and even in 3-D.

Guys, guys, guys, please don't get ahead of yourself! Yeah, sure it is cool if they are gonna make it but ahem, that's most unlikely going to happen. Because it's enough that they are making 8 HP movies and who here read the book? Does it have Harry, Hermione and Ron in it a lot? Because if it does, the movie won't work. You have to realize that Dan, Emma, and Rupert have lives and they already devoted about 10 years to Harry Potter. And anyway, the crew and cast are serious about closing the series when it reaches 2011. So for now, just treat it as a romour.
