Just weeks after it was announced that the US Deathly Hallows paperback would be released on July 7, 2009, the cover art for this edition of the book has been released.
The cover art has seen only one small change, above the title can be seen text stating "The Breathtaking Series Finale." The inital print run will be of two million copies, and will be available for the price of $14.99.

I was expecting something new and different if only to sell more books. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would buy the paperback, even though they have the hardcover, just for the new art work.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Hm...ok, fine. But I kinda don`t get why one would need the paperback when you already have the hardcover? Or are there different pictures or anything else different in it??? Then it would make more sense.

Hmm. I don't like the writing over the top it's so stupid because everyone knew it was the last in the series. Unless you'd done a Sirius Black and lived in a cave for a year, but even he went out to get a Newspaper to check the news.
I thought it'd be something new as well though, instead of just being the usual.
Still.

You're right, but you should meet some of my friends... Even Uncle Vernon knows more about HP than them.

Haha, very stupid change they have made. And I agree, I lot more people would buy it just for the new cover art...
KissingDraco, I believe the paperback edition is also for people who are not avid fans and prefer paperback. I don't mind either though. I collect the UK editions and Books 1-3 are paperback (I guess because they were much shorter) and Books 4-7 hardback.

Hard to believe that the soft cover is only now being released over a year later. I remember waiting in line for the hardocver and then rushing home. I don't know how anyone could wait this long.

It's silly how everything happens at once because the publishers and movie companies think they can make more money "bundling" the 6th movie and 7th book. Fans will spend the money anyway.
What they should do with the money they have now is buy a clue.

That's a pretty dumb and stupid change, I may have bought it if there was going to be different artwork and what not. This is just a bit stupid. Whoever reads the Harry Potter books already has the hard cover, and what idiot would wait just for the paperback. No one is gonna buy that
