Jason Isaacs who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies recently
gave an interview where he discussed his return to the screen in Deathly Hallows.
Mr. Isaacs tells that he his surprised when he is recognized, being a fan of Helen McCrory, meeting J.K. Rowling and begging her to have his character return to the series and when he will start filming the next movie.
What was it like to pick up the final Harry Potter book when it came out and not know what was in there, especially for you?
Isaacs: I'm not quite strong enough to pick up a book of that weight. I had a couple of people to help me, and a winch. The secret can be out now. Before it came out I wasn't quite sure – there was a point where I wasn't sure I was going to do anymore because there wasn't much for me to do in number five and I wasn't in number six. I met Jo Rowling for the first time at a big awards dinner. I went over and basically fell to my knees and said "Get me out of prison, I beg you." She looked over her shoulder and looked back at me mouthing "You're out. Chapter One." And that was it, that's all I had to know, and I signed up immediately.

oh good im glad jason will be returning, he is great for portraying lucious. he is definatly what i picture lucious looking like whenever reading the books.

Does no one ever read the books who do the movies I mean really. Lucius isn't in the sixth book because he is in prison, but Voldemort get's him out.

Ha wow I wouldnt recognize him without his long blond Malfoy hair. I think he looks better as Lucius Malfoy, the hair and evil anima are kinda alluring.

I thought he was a gonner for sure but I must say that wouldn't be so bad, he would have more time to make other movies, BUT I would rather die than see another man pick up his beloved wig and TRY to pull it off, unlikely...

Good to hear that he is coming back once again. I have only good things to say about him. Plus it would be weird to not have Isaacs again and somebody else seeing as he is an important character who has already had a lot of screen time.
