Jason Isaacs who portrays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies recently
gave an interview where he discussed his return to the screen in Deathly Hallows.
Mr. Isaacs tells that he his surprised when he is recognized, being a fan of Helen McCrory, meeting J.K. Rowling and begging her to have his character return to the series and when he will start filming the next movie.
What was it like to pick up the final Harry Potter book when it came out and not know what was in there, especially for you?
Isaacs: I'm not quite strong enough to pick up a book of that weight. I had a couple of people to help me, and a winch. The secret can be out now. Before it came out I wasn't quite sure – there was a point where I wasn't sure I was going to do anymore because there wasn't much for me to do in number five and I wasn't in number six. I met Jo Rowling for the first time at a big awards dinner. I went over and basically fell to my knees and said "Get me out of prison, I beg you." She looked over her shoulder and looked back at me mouthing "You're out. Chapter One." And that was it, that's all I had to know, and I signed up immediately.

Jason Issacs is an awesome actor (and very studly too!). It was hilarious to hear that story of him begging Jo to let 'him' out of jail and her mouthing it back for his peace of mind. Ha ha, very cute!

One thing can be said for certain, the casting in all these films has been brilliant and Jason Isaacs is no exception. Although I despise Malfoy and that he represents, Isaacs is wonderful in the role.
I was relieved that he would be returning because how on earth could we ever have DH w/out good ol' Lucius drawling out his venom?
What a wonderful way for Jo to let him know he need not worry!

What a lovely interview! I love Jo Rowling's sense of humour - being able to bring a grown man to his knees as to whether he is in the final movie or not!

I saw Jason Isaacs give a speech for Holocaust Memorial here in Britain. Came across as very clever and a nice bloke - totally different to how he portrays Malfoy, which shows how skilled he is

Glad that he is coming back to fill the role again, Jason is a great actor. Anyone who does not reprise their role for the final film may look like Prima Donna who considers themselves to be bigger than the franchise.
