Once again, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling graces
a list from Forbes magazine. Ms. Rowling, as well as actor Daniel Radcliffe, are both included in this year's Forbes 'Celebrity 100' list and join such notables as Oprah Winfrey, Miley Cyrus, Tiger Woods, Angelina Jolie and The Police.
Ms. Rowling entered
the list at number 9:
It was wizardry that transformed J.K. Rowling from a destitute single mother on welfare into a best-selling billionaire. Her adventures of teenage magician Harry Potter and his classmates at Hogwarts became a children's literary sensation in 1998 with the U.S. publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It and the six subsequent books have now sold 375 million copies worldwide. The final one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has sold 44 million since it was published last July, including 15 million in the first 24 hours.
Meanwhile, actor Daniel Radcliffe was number
64 on the list:
Last summer the British-born boy wizard, 18, signed a jaw-dropping contract worth an estimated $50 million to continue his leading role in the last two installments of the Harry Potter series. (The final story, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, has since split into two movies, meaning even more cash for him.) He also played the title role in the BBC's TV movie My Boy Jack, a World War I story about Rudyard Kipling's ill-fated son, and he'll be baring all on Broadway in Equus.

I looked at the list and am a little confused.
How are the calculating the press mentions and web hits? During a set amount of time or what?

I don't think some of you know what the Forbes 100 list is, it's not how good people are in movies, it's how much money they made. Just because we all love Daniel Radcliffe dose not mean he'll be any higher on the list. There is no way he could have made more money then Brad Pitt or Oprah. Just to be on the list at all is a big thing and he and J.K Rowling did great.

Good for them! It's always interesting to see who comes out on top on the 'Forbes 100'. J.K. Rowling at #9 that is very impressive.

That's great. The thing I find so utterly wonderful is that in every situation or interview I've ever seen with Dan, he seems so understated and personable. Every actor who works with him sings his praises and he just continues to grow into an amazing human being. If you haven't seen My Boy Jack, you should. He gives one of the most quietly powerful and moving performances I've ever seen on screen.I can't wait for the final two books on film because I think he will blow us away.

This is one list that I can see Rupert and Emma not being on. Dan is the most powerful of the trio, he's making 50 million(that's what they've been saying for months now) for the these last 2(well, now 3) movies, he's been in so many other projects that have gotten great reviews... He deserves to be on this list.
Now surprised JK Rowling is on the list though. Not surprised one bit, I am surprised that she got in the top 10, but I am surprised she didn't get top 5, let alone #1. But, Oprah has basically given herself the name "queen of the universe", taking over practically everything, so of course she's #1. I hope my mom can find this magazine, I wanna get it! Also, to see who else is on the list.

The wizardry that transformed Rowling was undoubtebly her own. Recognition is always welcome. I look forward to reading more from her, fictional or not. D.Radcliffe seems well prepared for his career after Harry Potter, with all his appearances besides H.P.
