A few weeks ago we let you know about the short prequel to Harry Potter that author JK Rowling had written to benefit British charities, English PEN, the writers’ association, and Dyslexia Action. Later today
her prequel, as well as other stories written by famous authors, will go up for auction, with frenzy bidding expected.
Tomorrow a copy of the story will be displayed in Waterstones
branches and on its website and in August, a book containing all the stories from the authors will go on sale.
UPDATE: J.K. Rowling's prequel sold
for 25,000 pounds ($48,858) to an absent bidder.
UPDATE II: Thanks to TLC
for letting us know that you can view a video report
about the auction online.

Should be interesting to see how much is raised. I am glad to see the extra material, since it always adds to the enjoyment of the HP universe. It is also nice to see it helping someone else.

Is it just me or is there something wrong with that word in that sentence? Haha. Shouldn't it be J.K. Rowling?
Nevertheless, I too wish I could read the prequel!

Ooooh I can't wait until this is available to read...its not exactly a huge shock that the book went for so much money. Anything JKR writes at this point will be like pure gold, let alone a new story about the HP world.
