I am so thrilled that Jim won! He is the reason why the HP audiobooks are so brilliant. However, I thought he should have won for OOTP--it was the performance that got him into the Guinness Book of World Records for having 134 distinct voices. But at least he was able to win one for the last book, since it was his last chance ever. His performance for DH was the only way I was able to salvage any pleasure whatsoever from that book. Congratulations Jim! You're a God!

Not surprised, he's always done really well with the audiobooks, even though I haven't actually listened to any of the more recent ones.

This makes me ridiculously happy!! I think he is the absolute best person ever to be chosen to read the books on tape and I cannot imagine them being read by anyone else. He really creates an incredible world with his different voices. He is amazing.

Much congratulations Jim Dale!! I really need to hear his readings of the Potter books. I'm a bit surprised his last win was for the GoF book, and not OotP or HBP.

I'll have to get a HP audiobook, when I can afford it. I listened to an extract of HBP once, shorty before its release, and I really enjoyed the listening. It certainly adds a lot to the reading, all the more since HP is often close to a tale or epic. It must be really encouraging for him, seeing how much he has worked to record the book.

I love the DH audio book. I took me about 20 hours to listen to it, but it was worth it!
I loved all of the voices he chose (especially Hagrid and Voldemort) but I hated the voice for Hermione. She was so whiney (whiny?)
