Earlier this evening Harry Potter stars Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane and director Mike Newell attended the 'Music from the Movies
,' a concert to aid the UK's leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research at the Royal Albert Hall.
Other celebrities who attended
included Richard E. Grant, Sir Derek Jacobi and Dame Judi Dench and all the music performed at the concert was written by Goblet of Fire film composer Patrick Doyle; himself a leukemia survivor.
You can see some early pictures from the event here

That is very amazing of them to do this, especially to aid the UK's leading blood cancer charity Leukaemia Research.
And for Patrick Doyle to survive this disease is an incredible feat. Good for him. Wish him all the best.

That's great, how they all attended. I had no idea Doyle was a leukemia survivor. It's neat that he composed the music for it too.

while the pics are really nice, I wish that there were better close-ups of them. I really wanted to see Alan a bit closer, but there was no way to do it. *sigh*
Glad that all of them support such a worthy cause.

I love it when celebrities do charitable things.
Wonderful picture of Alan, although I agree with Snoopy that bigger is always better. :) I also think Emma looked absolutely beautiful!
Thanks also for making Alan part of the picture for this news item on the front page. He needs more coverage. :D

MWbashfulAR says:
Nice to see so many HP stars mingling as they are all old friends anyhow. Emma Thompson was once married to Ken Branagh, and she and Alan Rickman are basically best of friends, and her husband Greg Wise who played Willoughby in Sense and Sensibility is there, and Imelda Stauton who played Umbridge was in Sense and Sensibility as well. Then you add in the fact that they're all in Harry Potter. It must just be a fun night out for a good cause for them.
Also, kudos for giving Alan Rickman the main picture. He does need more coverage on HPANA. Announcement: Attention Harry Potter fans: Go see Sweeney Todd when it hits theaters in the US on Dec. 21, and in the UK Jan. 8!!! He's in it too!
Also, just to clarify if there are any misunderstandings: Patrick Doyle who composed music for Sense and Sensibility and Goblet of Fire was the one who had leukemia, and also Timothy Spall who we know as Pettigrew also battled the same leukemia and survived. Just clarifying that. Ken Branagh did NOT have leukemia, he simply helped organize the event because he is old friends with Patrick Doyle.
