on JK's site has now been opened, but of course there are things you need to do to get to the prize.

Congratulations to all who have guessed the name - now please don't spoil it for others. You can discuss more on this news here in our forums.
UPDATE: Bloomsbury, the UK publisher of the books have confirmed on their web site that the title of book 7 is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with no publication date announced.

YAY! An early Christmas present. I was thinking this morning, no other book title release would be covered like this. Rarely is a book release covered, as most release dates go by un noticed. Harry Potter is really a world phenomenon.

I read in the hp-lexicon that we should have known the seventh book (or name of the book) would be announced on December 21st, because in the Hall of Prophecy in Order of the Phoenix:

December 21 is the Winter Solstice, and since this is the final book in the series, "none will come after."
