on JK's site has now been opened, but of course there are things you need to do to get to the prize.

Congratulations to all who have guessed the name - now please don't spoil it for others. You can discuss more on this news here in our forums.
UPDATE: Bloomsbury, the UK publisher of the books have confirmed on their web site that the title of book 7 is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, with no publication date announced.

deathly of cource translates into death so we know someoneis going to die but hallows that translates into halloween / all hallows eve
so I wonder if it's just a concidence of if that would happen to be the day of the final battle on which they fight. I know it would be far to soon in the book so maybe the book covers more than the normal year but i doubt it so that still leaves me puzzled.

Remember that none of the other titles said something familiar, so that was what we could expect.

Okay, V. exciting!!! However, it is really grim. I know it is the end but still. And I think 'deathly hallows' has to do with the last horcrux, but I'm sure most have come to that conclusion as well.

I hearda news report about it over here but my baby cousin began screaming so I missed the name, the same thing happened an hour later. I finally got the courage to ask to get on my grandparent's computer and I screamed! I am openign the door for novelty and i am annoyed as the key won't drag!
