Hmmm...I somehow doubt he is going to read directly from HBP. It seems like it wouldn't make sense. Maybe he is going to read from one of the other books. I don't know. This certainly is puzzling to hear. And unfortunately, I will be gone and unable to hear it.

HPLasts4Ever, The Today Show comes on whatever channel NBC comes on. The number is different for people in different areas, like here in Chicago, it's Channel 5.

I am crossing my fingers that it is HBP, but I have a feeling that it won't be. But it might, because it would bring the Today Show a LOT of publicity. Maybe he'll read the description on the back of the jacket? I'll have to remind myself to set my alarm clock on Tuesday!

No way is he going to read HBP. It's illegal. Remember the injunction. Not a thing exposed before July 16, 2005.

Wow, thats so cool, those that have NBC are lucky. I live in New Zealand so we only get the sucky channels unless we have SKY TV (which is cable tv over here).

I doubt that Jim Dale would read anything from HBP...the authorities are so tight-lipped about the book, unless he has permission from JKR to read from HBP.

I haven't made my mind up on what I think he'll be reading. If it is supposed to be a shock, then the broadcasters and Jim Dale himself will try to do that! On another note, I have listened to both Jim Dale and Stephen Fry reading the books and hugely prefer Stephen Fry. I'd also strongly recommened his books to read (obviously after the Half-Blood Prince has been thouroughly read several times)!!!

I doubt it will be from HBP... Why would they do that if Scholastic and Bloomsbury didn't release the back cover synopsis... AND Katie Couric's interview is not going to be broadcast until (I believe) The 17th or 18th...
