EW's 1,000th issue
'Goblet of Fire' included in EW's 'New Classics Books' list
With the 1,000th issue of "Entertainment Weekly" on newsstands today, the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" book is included at the number 2 spot on their 'New Classics Books' list.

'Potter' prequel
Over 70,000 fans view 'Potter' prequel on Waterstone's website
A few weeks ago we let you know about the short prequel to "Harry Potter" that author J.K. Rowling had written to benefit British charities, English PEN, the writers' association, and Dyslexia Action had sold for 25,000 pounds ($48,858). Waterstone's has placed the book online and in the first 20 hours that the prequel was available for fans more 70,000 visitors have viewed the story.

Limited Gift Set
"Harry Potter: Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set" wins packaging award
Warner Home Video's "Harry Potter: Years 1-5 Limited Edition Gift Set" won an award at the 65th Annual National Paperboard Packaging Competition. The winning packaging featured a round-cornered trunk and custom-made antiqued hinges and hardware fasteners made to match those seen on the trunk from the films.

Those who know have recently debunked recent news articles appearing around the world involving different aspects of "Harry Potter." No Emma Watson for Chanel, no early release date for the "Half-Blood Prince" video game and finally no that J.K. Rowling has written a film script for the theme park at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Sorry folks.

Emma Watson the face of 'Chanel' -- Rumor
The British press are reporting this morning that "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson has been signed to be the face of Chanel fragrance Coco Mademoiselle. The contract is for two-years and is reportedly for 6 million dollars. Ms. Watson replaces Keira Knightley. Please treat as a rumor until confirmed by her representatives.

Once again, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling graces a list from Forbes magazine. Ms. Rowling, as well as actor Daniel Radcliffe, are both included in this year's Forbes 'Celebrity 100' list and join such notables as Oprah Winfrey, Miley Cyrus, Tiger Woods, Angelina Jolie and The Police.

Prequel to 'Harry Potter' by JK Rowling now online
The shorter-than-short "Harry Potter" prequel by author J.K. Rowling is now available to read online at Waterstone's web site. The story, handwritten on the front and back of a note card, was one of 12 from various authors auctioned for the bookseller's "What's Your Story?" charity fundraiser. Rowling's went for nearly $50,000.

Later today her prequel, as well as other stories written by famous authors, will go up for auction, with frenzy bidding expected. Update: The prequel sold for 25,000 pounds ($48,858) to an absent bidder.

Rowling gives Commencement address at Harvard; watch via the web
We previously told you that "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling would be the principal speaker at this year's Harvard Commencement ceremony, where she will also receive an honorary degree and for those not lucky to attend you will be able to watch the event via the school's web site starting at 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. JKR arrived at Harvard yesterday evening to attend a reception at Loeb House before the annual dinner for honorary degree candidates. Update: Pictures from the Commencement ceremony are now appearing online.

2008 Tony Awards®
Update: Griffiths & Radcliffe set to present at this year's Tony Awards from NYC
Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe from the "Harry Potter" movies are two of the scheduled presenters at this year's Tony Awards. The ceremony will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on WCBS on Sunday, June 15th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. Update: You can now purchase tickets for the event, and in case you can't be there in person you can also view the red-carpet arrivals as well as the show via the Tony web site.

Some new images from the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" movie have appeared online. The images show Snape, Malfoy & Filch and the trio in different locations. Also, word has come from Emma Thompson's representatives that Sibyll Trelawney will not be appearing in the movie.

J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" series, helped to raise £320,436 ($628,372) for multiple sclerosis at a charity event this past weekend. One of the items up for auction was the chance to be immortalized as a wizard or witch in a portrait at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Florida.

Author J.K. Rowling has penned an 800-word "Harry Potter" prequel with all proceeds from an auction on June 10th going to English PEN, the writers' association, and Dyslexia Action. Copies of the cards will be put into a book and made available at Waterstone's Booksellers Ltd. and online in August.

Young actor from 'Half-Blood Prince' killed
The Telegraph is reporting today that Robert Knox, a young actor that is set to appear as Marcus Belby in the upcoming 'Half-Blood Prince' movie, was tragically killed in a stabbing incident in London.
